Out With the Old - In With the New...Happy New Year!!

Chevrolet: Update, Changes, etc. for the 2010 Model Line

AVALANCHE: The stereo gets a USB port, and 4x4 models get a single-speed transfer case; last year's low-range transfer case is now an extra-cost option.

AVEO: Horsepower is up from 106 to 108, the manual transmission gets higher 4th and 5th gear ratios for better fuel economy, and 2LT models get a standard trunk spoiler. Also new: Wintergreen Metallic paint.

CAMARO: Chevrolet re-introduced its classic sports car for 2010, with a strong emphasis on bang-for-buck: The base-model Camaro offers a 300 horsepower direct-fuel-injected 3.6 liter V6, while the Camaro SS comes with a Corvette-sourced 6.2 liter 426 horsepower V8.

COBALT: The sedan version of the hot-rod Cobalt SS is being discontinued after just one year of production. The SS Coupe lives on, and now gets a sunroof and performance computer as standard. LT models have a new MY LINK package that includes a stereo with USB input jack, Bluetooth, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, OnStar and 16" alloy wheels.

COLORADO: Side-curtain airbags are now standard, and the optional 5.3 liter V8 gets variable valve timing.

CORVETTE: All Corvettes get standard side airbags, revised interior console trim, and optional cross-flag embroidery on the seats. 'Vettes with manual transmissions get launch control and convertibles get a Z06-style trunk spoiler. Z06 buyers can now choose any color in the standard Corvette palette, including Torch Red, which returns for 2010. The new Grand Sport edition replaces the Z51 handling package on the base-model (LS3) Corvette. The Grand Sport combines the 430 hp LS3 engine with specific wheels, tires, suspension tuning, wider fenders, and Z06-size brakes with functional brake cooling ducts. Manual transmission Grand Sports get unique gearing while automatics get a specific rear axle ratio, changes which boost 0-60 times by 0.2 seconds compared to the standard LS3.

EQUNOX: The Equinox is all new for 2010, with an emphasis on sharp styling, a quieter ride, and better fuel economy. Power choices consist of a 2.4 liter direct fuel injected four-cylinder engine or an optional 3.0 liter V6, also with direct injection, and Chevy claims that both engines will run up to 500 miles between fill-ups. Features carried over from the old Equinox include a rear seat that slides 8 inches fore-and-aft, allowing owners to maximize rear-seat legroom or cargo space.

HHR: Early reports that the turbocharged HHR SS would get the axe for 2010 were, I am happy to say, wrong; the SS will be back for 2010. The HHR gets a few new paint colors and a new rear-view camera, but is otherwise unchanged.

IMPALA: The V8-powered Impala SS has been discontinued, leaving the 2.5 and 2.9 liter V6s as the sole engine choices.

MALIBU: The four-cylinder engine is now E85 flex-fuel capable, and mid-level LT models get the LTZ's six-speed automatic transmission as standard.

SILVERADO: All V8s (including the Silverado Hybrid) are now flex-fuel capable, and the 4.8 and 5.3 liter engines get variable valve timing. The 5.3 also gets a six-speed automatic and a revised rear axle ratio. All 1500 models get standard electronic stability control, seat-mounted side airbags, and side-curtain airbags. All stereos get a USB port and the backup camera is available on more models.

SUBURBAN: The 6-liter V8 is now flex-fuel capable. 4x4 models get a single-speed transfer case; a low-range transfer case is now an extra-cost option. Stereos gain a USB input port, and option packages have been revised.

TAHOE: The 5.3 liter V8 is now flex-fuel capable; other changes are similar to the SUBURBAN.

TRAILBLAZER: Discontinued.

TRAVERSE: Premium stereos get a USB input jack.

Cadillac: Update, Changes, etc. for the 2010 Model Line

CTS SEDAN: A 3-liter direct-injection V6 replaces the indirect-injected 3.6 as the base engine; output is 270 hp and 223 lb-ft, and the engine runs on regular fuel. The 304 hp 3.6 liter direct-injected V6 will continue to be offered as an option. New features include a cabin air filtration system, suede-covered steering wheel and shifter, and optional 19" polished aluminum wheels.

CTS SPORT WAGON: Cadillac has announced a station wagon version of the CTS for 2010. Though slightly shorter than the CTS sedan, the CTS Sport Wagon offers 25 feet of cargo space, accessible through a power-operated liftgate. Like the CTS sedan, the CTS Sport Wagon offers several powertrain choices: 3.0 and 3.6 liter direct-injection V6s offering 270 and 304 hp respectively; rear- or all-wheel-drive; and three levels of suspension, ranging from cushy to sporty.

CTS-V SEDAN: The 556 hp terror returns for 2010, now with an optional wood trim interior package.

DTS: Aside from a couple of new paint colors, the DTS is unchanged for 2010.

ESCALADE: The 6.2 liter V8 now gets an Active Fuel Management system that can shut down four cylinders for increased fuel economy. New side thorax airbags and a revised inner door design provide improved side-impact protection. The clock from the Platinum Edition is now standard in all models, the parking brake release has been revised, and a new battery saver shuts off power when the battery runs low from extended accessory use. The Escalade Hybrid gets flex-fuel (E85) capability and a taller rear-axle ratio for better fuel economy.

SRX: Cadillac's small crossover has been redesigned for 2010. Power comes from a 3.0 liter direct-injection 3-liter V6 producing 265 horsepower, and the new SRX features a Haldex all-wheel-drive system that can transfer up to 100% of the power to the front or rear and an electronic limited-slip rear differential that can deliver up to 85% of rear axle power to one wheel, which Cadillac says improves both traction and handling.

STS: The STS gets two new paint colors, but no other changes.

STS-V: Sadly, the 469 hp supercharged hot-rod STS has been discontinued.

XLR/XLR-V: Cadillac's hardtop-convertible Corvette clone has been discontinued for 2010.

On behalf of the people we help through generous support of businesses like yours, the American Red Cross extends our deepest appreciation from the Union County Chapter of the American Red Cross for your consideration of donated items for the Hendrick Chevrolet Hurricane Golf Classic for the American Red Cross to be held November 5, 2009.

Hendrick Chevrolet is a Red Cross partner who selflessly implements projects in support of the community. The funds donated from their scheduled golf tournament will specifically go to the Union County Chapter to help local disaster victims. Last year we assisted 60 local families affected by house fires. Over 19,000 residents of Union and Anson Counties received benefits from our chapter last year.

We so appreciate the efforts of this local business in helping the Red Cross be prepared to Be There When Help Can’t Wait. Subsequently, we appreciate your generosity in donating items for the Hendrick Hurricane Golf Classic.

On behalf of all of the families we serve, thank you for considering a donation to support the Red Cross fundraising efforts and the Heroes Golf Tournament.

2010 Chevrolet Equinox woos auto enthusiasts

Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac, the premier Chevrolet dealership near Charlotte is pleased to present the completely redesigned 2010 Chevrolet Equinox in its large showroom that houses new and used Chevrolet vehicles. The new Chevy Equinox has been redesigned inside and out and is the latest addition to GM's line-up of competitive vehicles. The four-door mid-size crossover is available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels and is offered in two engine choices. Both the engines are mated to standard 6-speed automatic transmission. The aerodynamic design and low-rolling resistance tires which minimize friction help IT to gain maximum mileage.

Pitted against Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape, the all-new Chevrolet Equinox is miles ahead of its competitors with regard to fuel efficiency, safety features and warranty offered. At a starting price of $22,440, it's the most cost-efficient model in its class. With a class-leading rating of 32 mpg, the new Equinox is capable of a highway driving range of up to 600 miles.

The new Equinox also comes with the best coverage in America. The 100,000 mile/5-year (whichever comes first) fully transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty with no deductible is unmatched by its competitors. The power programmable lift gate, along with the one-year free OnStar service and XM Radio helps the 2010 Chevy Equinox stand out in the compact crossover segment.

Jimmy Wins, Pepsi 500 at Fontana, Ca

Written by Hendrick Motorsports
Monday, 12 October 2009 07:10
FONTANA, Calif. (Oct. 11, 2009) -- Jimmie Johnson captured the points lead in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings after pacing a race-high 126 laps and winning Sunday's Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway.
But getting to Victory Lane wasn't easy for the defending race winner. Johnson had to outrun teammates Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin on a final restart that occurred with three laps to go. Although his specially-painted No. 48 Lowe's/Jimmie Johnson Foundation Chevrolet handled better on the long runs, Johnson managed to pull away in the short time frame.
"What an awesome car, what an awesome day," said Johnson, who owns a 12-point advantage in the standings. "Those cautions at the end really had me nervous. I didn't know what to do on those restarts. I'm glad I got a good start."
Gordon gave Johnson the most competition during the final restarts and led twice for six laps before crossing the finish line second. This is the eighth time this season Gordon has taken runner-up honors and the third time he has followed a teammate for the checkered flag.
"We were just trying to make it interesting because nobody else seemed to be able to do that for the (No.) 48," said Gordon, who improves two spots to fifth in the standings. "We certainly couldn't on that last run. It was a great day for the DuPont/Pepsi Chevrolet. We fought hard all day to put ourselves in that position. To come home second today is definitely something we're proud of."
Martin started ninth and led five laps early in the race. Previously the points leader, Martin now ranks second in the standings after crossing the finish line fourth behind Johnson. This is Martn's 12th top-five finish of the season.
"I'm real proud of our Kellogg's/CARQUEST Chevrolet and our team," Martin said. "Man, these guys are so awesome. They brought me all weekend a great race car, great job, great adjustments, and we made progress with the racecar. There was a time when we could go out front. We were right there. I'm just proud. I couldn't be more thrilled to be driving that (No.) 5 car."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. climbed from his 37th starting spot and spent most of the day running in the top 10. But misfortune struck with roughly 50 laps to go when Earnhardt's No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevy was collected in an eight-car accident in Turn 1. After a red-flag period, the No. 88 team doctored the Chevy and sent Earnhardt back to the track. He finished 25th.
"We are doing whatever we can to stay positive," Earnhardt said. "We had a top 10 car today and it's unfortunate that a lot of good cars got tore up there at the end."

Together: The Hendrick Motorsports Story

“When we started the team back in 1984, our pie in the sky was to eventually, someday win a race,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “Any success beyond that has been because of the folks who have worked so hard and supported us over our 25 years. We’ve been extremely fortunate, and I hope the film is something they will be proud of.” Please visit http://www.refresheverything.com/hendrick to see a preview of the documentary. To preorder your personal copy of this feature go to http://www.hendrickcars.com/ .

Time and time again, we as Hendrick employees have heard Mr. Hendrick say in print and in word that his people make his organizations as strong as they are. If one can understand a true and mutually appreciative relationship all may be able to comprehend the gratitude we feel for our “Mr. H.”

The story of the creation of Hendrick Motorsports is much talked about in the Charlotte area but often times lacks the authenticity it deserves. NASCAR Media Group has found it time to document the beginnings of the racing legacy with exclusive interviews, never-before seen footage, rare family insight and details of the critical events that shaped the organization.

NASCAR Media Group’ documentary style film will show on ABC Sunday October 11, 2009 at 1:30 pm prior to the running of the Pepsi 500 race in Fontana California.

This event, narrated by acclaimed actor Mr. Tom Cruise, will prove to be an emotional and resonating presentation emphasizing the ability to achieve amazing things.
As employees in Hendrick family we look forward to getting an added view into the early part of the Hendrick success and hope that you will join us in this special event.

http://www.hendrickcars.com/ and http://www.hendrickmotorsports.com/ have partnered together to offer a incredible Champion's Weekend at Homestead. On October 10, 2009 visit http://www.hendrickcars.com/ and fill out the sweepstakes entry form. Sweepstakes winner will be announced on November 10,2009.

The 2010 Cadillac SRX arrives at Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac!

We, at Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac the New Cadillac, Chevrolet and Used Car Dealer near Charlotte, are happy to introduce the 2010 Cadillac SRX to our Cadillac customers. The 2010 SRX is a five-passenger mid-luxury crossover vehicle with a completely new deign. The new SRX is powered by a new, fuel-efficient direct injected 3.0L V-6 engine that delivers an estimated 260 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission thereby achieving an estimated 10-15 per cent fuel economy improvement.

We feel that the top reasons for taking the 2010 Cadillac SRX home would be its attractive styling, the plush, well-designed interiors, the powerful base engine and reliable brakes.

The look of 2010 Cadillac SRX is certainly much better than the 2009 model. The front portion of the SRX has vertically stacked headlights and a sleek chrome grille. A strong line beginning at the trailing edge of the front wheel culminates at the taillight lens and this helps the vehicle aerodynamically by breaking the airflow from the body.

Inside the 2010 SRX, the hand-stitched covers on the instrument panel and ambient lighting make for great quality interiors. The controls for climate and audio systems and the optional NAV system set in the center of the instrument panel are presented aesthetically. An illuminated logo glows through the front door sill plates when the door is open thus adding to the coolness factor.

The 2010 SRX features numerous electronic gadgets and systems. Highlights include adaptive forward lighting that swivels the headlamps in sync with vehicle steering; a power liftgate with adjustable height setting; an integrated hard disc drive for audio storage; and a dual-screen video system for rear entertainment. Bluetooth compatibility and OnStar's turn-by-turn navigation service are standard features.

The 2010 Cadillac SRX carries the expected safety equipment in a premium crossover like standard head-curtain side airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and safety belts.

Why Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac in Monroe is #1 in customer satisfaction

Our trip to Hendrick Chevrolet to Pick up our new 2010 CAMARO

By Shane and Donavon Wagner

Since the day the concept was released, I, like many other Camaro enthusiasts, vowed to someday have one. I have a long history of working with first generation Camaros and my dad owns a 1969. This car is part of our gene pool. So here is a small story of our Camaro and our trip to get it.
I remember spec’ing out the car online with my dad and just going all out on the options like a couple kids in a candy store. As soon as GM annouced they were taking orders we got one of the first allotments from Hendrick Chevrolet in Monroe. Not only are the Hendrick dealerships legendary, but they were one of the few charging MSRP and not price gouging. In addition, these are the guys that paid a few hundred thousand dollars to have the very first and second production Camaros, so we knew they were serious about this car and obviously performance with their involvement in racing.
I called almost every week or two getting updates from Bill Boles, their veteran sales manager, who also put a tracker from GM on my car that kept them updated to every single step of the way. I could tell by talking with Bill that he was excited about the Camaro as much as I was and didn’t get annoyed with me freakishly calling all the time. Unfortunately, I think my car was held up for almost every single possible quality control check there was including the 6-speed manual hold. So after a few months waiting, anticipation was at its capacity and finally Bill gave me the all too sweet phone call, “Well, I’m looking at a orange Camaro here that has your name on it..”
I currently live in Henderson, NV and my dad lives in my home town Bismarck, ND. From day one we said we would fly into NC and drive this machine back to ND and then down to NV. After all these cars are meant to drive! It would be a great chance to hang out with my Dad doing something we both love. So the day we got the call, we booked our flights and got out there within a day and that’s when we found out how great a choice it was to get this car from Hendrick Chevrolet.
Upon arrival at the airport, I got a call from Dwight, Hendrick’s driver, saying he was a white haired good ol’ boy holding a sign of our Camaro. Sure enough there he was with a big sign with our name and a color picture of our Camaro. That was pretty neat. So from there he drove us the 35-40 minutes to the dealership from the Charolette airport, but it only seemed like a few minutes with the great conversations. Once we got there, we met up with Bill and not long after some of the other guys couldn’t help but sneek into the office and join in on the excitement of the sale and asking us about what we plan on doing with the car and if they could help us with directions, etc. We had Tom VanEtten, the internet manager, taking pictures of us with the car and printing them out for us with script such as “The day finally arrived, Dad and me picking up the new Camaro.” He even gave us plastic protetive sleeves to put the pictures into. My dad asked if they happened to have a hat with the Hendrick logo on them and they had two left up in the locked room, and they were ours. They also gave us a handful of Camaro broshures to share with my brothers and friends. Katie Slevin, the finance manager, was so efficient I barely warmed up my seat before we where done getting all the paperwork filled out. Then Don Flint, another sales manager, jumped in the Camaro with me to get me all set up with Onstar and the turn by turn directions which made this trip much easier. He also called us along the way to make sure everything was working alright. I have never felt so welcomed and appreciated at a place of business in my life. These guys are a class act and are as passionate about the cars as their customers. Unfortunately we had a long drive ahead of us so we didn’t have any time to hang out which I would have liked to do.
So after getting up at 4am to fly almost six hours from Las Vegas to Charolette we got on the road that evening and made it about 50 miles from Chicago. The addrenaline of being in this car was enough to keep us awake that long which at that point we had been up for about 27 hours straight. We crashed at a sleezy truck stop hotel for three hours and got back on the road. We were trying to get back to Bismarck for my two brother’s softball party they were having since they took first this season and wanted to show off the car to all the friends and family present. So after another 15 hours of driving we finally made it home to a crowd of family and friends waiting for us at 1:30am as we pulled into the driveway.
After my dad gets a chance to play with it for a few weeks he and my mom are making another road trip down to Vegas. This would put the car through 15 states and over 3,000 miles on the odometer. I currently work as engineering manager for Drake Automotive group and Shelby Performance Parts, so I will be the black sheep in the world of Ford’s at work. I plan on using the car as a test mule for a bunch of new performance products and showing them why the Camaro is still the king of muscle cars. Luckily every one already knows my first love is GM.
This trip was truly a great bonding experience with my dad that I will never forget and I look forward to creating many more memories with this car.

The New General Motors Company Launches Today

New GM to Focus on Customers, Cars and Culture

GM gets back to the business of building great cars and trucks, serving customer needs
New company created from GM's strongest assets
Four core brands backed by the nation's largest and strongest dealer network
Streamlined organization on a global basis for faster decisions, sharper focus on the customer
Commitment to open communications

DETROIT - The new General Motors Company began operations today with a new corporate structure, a stronger balance sheet, and a renewed commitment to make the customer the center of everything the new GM does.
"Today marks a new beginning for General Motors, one that will allow every employee, including me, to get back to the business of designing, building and selling great cars and trucks and serving the needs of our customers," said Fritz Henderson, president and CEO. "We are deeply appreciative for the support we have received during this historic transformation, and we will work hard to repay this trust by building a successful new General Motors."
Created from the old GM's strongest operations in an asset sale approved by the bankruptcy court on July 5, the new GM is built on:

Four core brands in the U.S. and the largest, strongest dealer network in the country,
A fresh lineup of Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC cars, trucks and crossovers, each with leading-edge designs and technologies that matter to both consumers and the environment,
A competitive cost structure, a cleaner balance sheet, and a stronger liquidity position that will enable GM to invest in new products, key technologies, and its future,
A winning culture focused on customers and products.
"One thing we have learned from the last 100 days is that GM can move quickly and decisively," said Henderson. "Today, we take the intensity, decisiveness and speed of the past several months and transfer it from the triage of the bankruptcy process to the creation and operation of a new General Motors.

"Business as usual is over at GM," said Henderson. "Today starts a new era for General Motors and everyone associated with the company. Going forward, the new General Motors is fully committed to listening to customers, responding to consumer and market trends, and empowering the people closest to the customer to make the decisions. Our goal is to build more of the cars, trucks, and crossovers that customers want, and to get them to market faster than ever before."

Recently, Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac had a luncheon to reward two very special people we call family.

Mr. Mike Yermack has been with our dealership for almost 7 years and is consistently a top salesperson and leader on our sales force. For many years Mike has developed relationships with customers that continue to come back to him for all their automotive needs. Many of Mike’s clients are referrals from previous customers that trust him enough to take care of their friends and family. Mike was awarded with a plaque outlining his achievements and a diamond for his President’s Club ring. We congratulate Mike on being a President’s Club winner two years in a row!

Ms. Paulette Massey, another longtime member of the Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac family has provided honest, accurate information and advice to our service customers. There are countless clients that have brought their vehicle to only Paulette to keep it in top notch condition. Paulette’s knowledge and friendly ways show how much she truly deserved to be awarded. In addition to receiving her President’s club ring, Ms. Massey also can display her new plaque outlining this very special accomplishment. Congratulations to Paulette!!!!!

The Unveiling of the new 2010 Chevy Camaro at Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac Monroe, Nc

It is an infrequent occurrence when we can come together as a community and be proud to stand behind and American Icon. On May 2, 2009 the team at Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac had the distinct pleasure of unveiling the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. This vehicle has embodied the ingenious that is American car designing. The heritage behind this car brings us back to an older, easier time, while the styling and performance remind us of yesteryear it is, in fact a 2010 and Chevrolet is moving into the future.

This car we displayed was unique and special as it is the #2 car. It was in fact the second car off the assembly line and is owned by Mr. Hendrick. This car came to our beloved Mr. H by way of the famous Barrett-Jackson Auction and was won during a charity event.

During our event we hosted as many as 600 people. Some drove from as far away as Asheville NC and Charleston SC and we are proud and thankful for everyone who took the time to come and spend their Saturday with us. In addition to the debut of the 2010 Camaro we also enjoyed more than 100 classic and show cars.

It was truly special for all of our team to share in the food and activities with our customers, friends and community.

Thank you to everyone and we look forward to seeing you soon!!!!!!!
