First I want to congratulate Kelly Bires and the Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet team. They finished 7th in Saturday’s Nationwide race in Fontana. The team started in 32nd Place – that is great teamwork!! This weekend in Las Vegas, Hendrickcars.com will again be the primary partner on the #88 car.

Kelly Bires became JR Motorsports’ newest talent in September 2009, signing with the company to take over the highly competitive and extremely visible driver’s seat of the No. 88 Chevrolets in 2010. He is the driver that is fully committed to NASCAR.

Bires was not necessarily a discovery by team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr., but rather a sought-after up-and-comer that had credentials to boast. He will drive the #88 car in 2010 and 2011. He had already frequented the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series for two years, the latter of which he scored three top-five and 11 top-10 finishes.

Kelly signed with JR Motorsports prior to the end of the 2009 season, and competed in his first race under the JRM banner in the series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the No. 5 Chevrolet.

Like the start of many NASCAR drivers, Kelly began karting at Sugar River Raceway in Brodhead, Wisconsin at age 9.

Achievements:
· 2001 Great Lakes Allison Legacy Series Champion
· 2006 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Champion

Awards:
· 2000 Great Lakes Allison Legacy Series Rookie of the Year
· 2002 Dells Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year
· 2006 ASA Late Model Series Rookie of the Year
· Bires ended his promising rookie season with two top-10 finishes.

In 2008, Bires continued to run for JTG, earning one top-five and six top-10 finishes. In 2009, Bires was tapped for a part-time schedule, driving select races for Kevin Harvick, Inc., as well as Braun Racing, and CJM Racing. In four competitive starts, Bires earned two top-five and three top-10 finishes. Additionally, Bires made one ARCA start at Talladega in 2009 where he led 35 laps and finished ninth.

When not racing, Bires enjoys being outdoors snowmobiling and hunting; I would not expect anything less from a native of Wisconsin.

HENDRICKCARS.COM – The No. 88 Chevrolet will feature HendrickCars.com on its hood and quarter panels at Auto Club Speedway this weekend. HendrickCars.com allows consumers to view up to 5,000 cars online from franchised dealerships with manufacturer certified used cars. The website offers up to 60 photos of each vehicle from award winning dealerships, and free CARFAX reports.
